In the United States -- WIC: Women, Infants and Children

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is open to all eligible persons regardless of race, color, sex, national origin, age or disability.

WIC provides nutrition education, supplemental foods and linkages to preventive health care for families throughout the United States and territories.

The supplemental foods provide high levels of protein, iron, calcium and Vitamins A and C. These nutrients are critical for assuring good health, growth and development.
