Zackaree MacKenzee
Zackaree was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. His pictures are presented by his parents, Paul and Vicki.
Zack was adopted so I don't know a whole lot about the first six weeks of his life. He was born 8 weeks premature and weighed 3 lbs. 9 ozs. He now weighs seven lbs. He had a gastroschesis and had emergency surgery immediately after birth. This along with the cleft contributes to major REFLUX. He also suffered from amniotic banding which resulted in the amputation of his right pinkie. He had a first degree cerebral bleed at birth, but we have seen no evidence of any problem. His central line became infected when he was 31 days old and he coded, but was revived without major problems. He is scheduled for his first cleft surgery December 10, 1998. Zack has two older sisters, both adults and an eight year old brother who is also adopted.
